Greetings to the ancient elves of boaty knowledge and wisdom!

I think this is ok to do, but thought I'd check on here first...just in case! I need to strip the aft deck (varnished wood with sikaflex in between) and fancied slapping on the old nitromors to get the job done double quick. Will this damage the sikaflex, or will it be ok?

Many thanks, oh wise ones, and cheery bye for now!!

I've used caustic soda in a similar situation, and the Sikaflex seems to be unaffected, but I've not used Nitromors. Best to try a small patch first. I must admit I avoid paint stripper whenever possible as it makes such a mess - I find a good quality cabinet scraper and a vacuum cleaner work best for me. Try asking Cuchilo - he posted a picture of some teak he stripped and refinished some time ago.
Whichever method you use just make sure you do a decent job - I'm about to bring my boat round to its' mooring at the Folly, and I'll be able to check up on you if I stand on the boom with a pair of binoculars.
