Can anyone give me an idea of the fuel consumption of this engine on a small 24ft fast fishing boat .
It is for sale and the broker knows little about it.
It has an outdrive with 3 blade propeller.

Sadly here (Asia) you only get a sea trial after a deposit is paid, too slow will not get my deposit back, hence the research.
I am beginning to think the speed and economy will not be that good.

I assume the outdrives are VP SX, so the engine/leg package together should have a dry weight of 337kg. This is a comparatively lightweight engine/leg.
I remember some tests on this engine/leg combo produced results of 5.8gph flat out at 23 knots which is just under 4mpg. I don't have any figures for a fast cruise, which should be better than this, but tests on a 24ft boat fitted with twin TAMD22s gave figures of 7gph at 21 knots (3mpg).
It's also a torquey engine with the spec mentioned (turbo, aftercooled) , so not bad at getting up on the plane.
If I remember correctly, when you change the cambelt on these, you also have to replace another belt which drives the injector pump. Many people forget.
