HLR Latvia (Ventspils) for CA - SBC - Chuggin
I was invited to become HLR for Ventspils region in Latvia based on a CA rallye held in 2006. This is a repeat rallye of various years.
During my period living in Tallinn - I had been in contact with CA after finding errors in Web-Site info. The CA secretary and I communicated for a while and then all went quiet. Later in 2006 I was contacted and I agreed to help wherever possible. It is an unpaid position - I receive no fees / costs returns etc. I do it because I like to help others ...
During Summer 2006 - I hosted 2 large BBQ garden parties at my house on the river ... for which I have rec'd many returns of thanks. I was formally accepted as HLR shortly after.
I am at present working on the 2007 program involving 50 - 80 boats ranging from 35 up to 85ft (some are Maxi's) to have a 3 day event in Ventspils ... to involve possibly TV, Town Celebrations and Regatta events along the river / beach front. Of course I will be allowed to show off my own boat - modest old tub she is .... but so what boating is boating.
Talbots idea of database etc. - I agree with - but it also has to be remembered that HLR with CA is a bit more than just helping out anyone ... it is a CA duty ... OK - for me any boater is welcome to ask me etc. But CA do support me with newsletter, annual london dinner etc. So difficult one for me to comment on ...
Chuggin unfortunately is no more Chichester HLR for CA ... for various reasons that I am sure he has his own version of. I will not expound the facts passed to me.
Chuggin remarks on SBC and IPC .... as many know - IPC and I have extremely good relations and I co-operate with Keith and formerly Kim very well without problem. As to SBC - I can say in all honesty that a Vote was taken and Chuggin was banned from original SBC and is barred from access to any future SBC ... for very good reason. His posting style and attitude here is nothing compared to the barbs and poison he has spread elsewhere. He has a personal vendetta against me - that is his choice and I have only taken this time to post on it to put my position. I have no wish to communicate or discuss the matter with him. I have a junk folder in my e-mail program for his e-mails - containing serious abuse, slander, rudeness and .... Honest for an older person - it is gutter trash.
I will not repeat here the hassle I had in my Marina because of being associated with Chuggin ... and the trouble it caused over false reporting to me about moorings and boat condition ... marina was in fact not at fault. But that is another matter.
Chuggin - leave well alone what you have no idea of.
