Nicholson 39: First hand advice please.

A (currently non-internet equipped) friend of mine is seriously looking at a Nicholson 39. As I know several forumites are lucky enough to already own one of these classic craft, any advice as to "pros and cons" would be very much appreciated. In particular, any areas of weakness? Things to peruse closely prior to engaging a surveyor? General comment on sailing performance? The boat will not be raced, but good passage times will be important, along with ease of handling by a shorthanded crew. The boat would probably be marina based, so how does she handle under power? As ever, all constructive comment would be much appreciated - thanks in anticipation.

Hi I am pretty shure that Fatipa is enroute to pick his nic 39 up from across the pond, you could try and pm him, I have found Brian very helpful.

the forum of the Nicholson Circle of the Low countries. You can find their site here There is an English version, but the forum is mainly Dutch. However, just post in English and I am sure you will get a reply. I know of at least one Nic 39 owner there and two more from outside the Low Countries that did post already.
