THe Nic' 30 is a awesome sailing boat.

I owned one named TTFN for many years. She was built in 1977 I got here in 92 or 93 an she was a fast and very capable family cruiser racer. These yachts were mostly built by Halmatic for Nicholsons, but were built to a very hight standard.
THe hull and fitting should not cause you any problems at all.
These yachts are very fast to windward and can be pinched up very close to the wind, however the down wind run is different again the fine ends and rather elegant (but extreme) tumblehome making for a very rolley ride down wind. The genny is very big and can take some serious muscle to sheet it in, ours was 130 percent, but it does drive the mast head rig to windward very well. The tiller is light and under power she is very nice.
If I could afford it I would buy a second one right now! Some of the best sailing I ever had was in the Nic' 30.
Please PM me if you want more info.
