Coming back into Chichester over the bar on easter weekend in the heavy fog was interesting at very low tide. As the fog lifted we took a few snaps and I've only just got them printed. This one is nice and shows how shallow it was (less than 3ft over the bar!!!)

url, if you post it into a browser is 'forbidden', so at a guess that particular image hosting folder is not authorised for external access. Often on many pic hosting sites, this needs to be turned on in options, though some hosts simply don't allow external access to keep their server loads down. Jez has put the pic on photobucket now anyone, so not really worth digging much deeper

THAT....is a fantastic photo Jez, deserves to be in a gallery.

I read that the harbour authority are supposed to keep the bar dredged to 1.5m below chart datum, so keeping it that way, on a shifting sand bank, is pretty impressive.

Do you boat there often and do you have anymore photo's?

The boat is based at Sparkes Marina, just round the corner, so Im out and about in chichester most weekends. I have a few more pics that I took that day, though not as good. I'll post them tonight when I get home. Glad you like my efforts....
