Nice pub for lunch tomorrow near Bury St Edmunds

Sister in law is in hospital in Bury St Edmunds and we are visiting tomorrow.
My brother in law is staying at the Dragonfly hotel on the A14 near Sainsburys and we are picking him for lunch up prior to hospital visiting in the afternoon
Can anyone familiar with the area suggest a decent pub outside the South side of town within reasonable distance?

More hotel and restaurant than pub but nice nonetheless. The Masons arms in whiting street is ok. http://www.masonspub.co.uk/

`Yes, rather hit and miss. Nice setting etc and much beloved by Grannies and aunts.
