Following our "staycation" this year we are looking further afield.
We have half an idea to go down to the Italian Lakes, with our 18ft Powerboat behind us on the trailer (large Range Rover so the tow is not a problem)
So are the Italian Lakes a good boating destination (or is it restricted like the Lake District)? What about launching, mooring, fees and licences (I have RYA Powerboating II), leaving it on the lake for the holiday? Is there enough boating to do there or will we be bored after once around the lake (sorry - but I have no idea what's there - could be the largest lakes in the world or a couple of "puddles")
Its a long haul, I guess a minimum of two days travel, any recommendations for a halfway stop (with a trailer on the back)
Any recommendations for where to stay?
All opinions on any aspects of this idea welcome, we have all winter to plan
