next year's cruise

Re: next year\'s cruise

Wow, you lot start planning early. I rather fancy going over to Holland, and if I can find willing crew, that might be on for next year. As it is quite a long way in a small boat, it would be re-assuring to cruise in company, so if anybody is planning a trip in that direction and has available dates, I might see if I can get crew for those weeks.

Bernie, I will be going over to Holland solo early next year. Let me know if you want to cruise in company. Flexible on dates but March latest.

Re: next year\'s cruise

For your first visit to Holland I would go to Flushing first. Then you can explore Zeeland. Lots to see and do. Get the tide right up the Scheldt estuary. If that too long the stop at Ostende/Zebrugge for a break. then go North the next day. Next season we intend to go in again at Imuiden weather permitting.

Re: next year\'s cruise

We used to have a one-week milk run of Harwich-Oostende*-Vlissingen-Middelburg*-Veere-Goes*-Zierikzee*-Roompotsluis-Harwich (overnighting at the asterixes). One week was usually enough, but didn't allow much time for sight-seeing or for a bad weather cushion. Extending to Amsterdam in another week would again be possible, but not leave much time to spare.

This year we're heading for the North German coast in the Baltic.

Re: next year\'s cruise

I'm not sure when or even if we'll go but there is a loose plan to go to Holland which might well mean Flushing. Perhaps in June again with nice long days. I'll let you know if we come up with a date, Bernie, that suits you for a crossing in company, maybe.
