I think I understand your viewpoint clear enough - it's just that other imbibers might choose to watch the aforementioned overpaid fairies, rather than meet up with you.

Not me of course ..... I'm going to the Club to listen to an ex-London River Policeman talk about his job.

I intended to attend but the propect of the TV being on indoors and having to watch a load of mediocre players playing for a draw as England have never realised that if you are keeping possession of the ball and attacking - the other side can't score - decides it for me!!

The sooner the FA change the rules so that a UK born player scoring a goal counts for twice what a goal scored by an imported foreign player does the sooner the clubs will make more effort to develop the UK football talent!

How many foreign players play for UK clubs? How many UK players play for foreign clubs? QED.

Does the relatively small number of English players playing abroad not imply that UK clubs are making an effort to retain UK players even though it is more economical to import foreigners?

No it means they can be bothered to train up their own talent just buy your way to the top by buying the best from abroad.

Whats the ratio of foreign players to UK players in top clubs like say Chelsea and thats before we start talking about the nationalities of the managers!!
