Newtown Creek - BBQ

I've been to Newtown Creek a number of times but never lit up the BBQ there (normally reserving this for East Head and Priory Bay). Is there a suitable beach or place to light up the BBQ at Newtown Creek?

You will see the clouds of smoke coming from the beach on the Western side of the entrance on a weekend evening - either just inside or further along the beach on the outside. (There is no landing on the Eastern side, it is a nature reserve.)

I was sure it was a Nature reserve on all sides and that landing was only permitted by the old slip way of at the stage just inside the western lip?

Nope, eastern side only. The whole place belongs to the National Trust, which is maybe what you were thinking of?
