Hey all
i have just put a deposit a 1990 SS tomahawk 37 and i will be looking for a surveyor to carry out the survey on her; recomendations would be helpfull; the survey is for insurance purposes. i have seen at least one gent on here has a portifino 31 with the volvo AD41 DP 200 hp engines, are they pretty reliable? and if i do have problems what am i likley to pay for a rebuild? The seller has all paperwork for servicing for the last 5 years, was previously sold to him by sunseeker, i couldnt really find anything else for this budget that i really liked and after reading athred on here about old vs newer boats im somewhat concerned as i understand this is an older boat and will have its niggles but dont want to fork out for huge amounts of engine trouble.
How many hours do these last? id say im pretty hand with most engine stuff ie oil changes fuel filters, air filters etc but i dont think id venture into the bigger stuff so this id have to get the pro's in.
i will be keeping her in Ocena village went there the other day (met a guy called dale) helpfull chap! to check out the place loved it, K Pontoon is the only one avalibale i think; anyone else have experiance of there?
