Hi all, I have just found this website and hope someone can help. I want to build a timber superstructure onto a small (35ft) steel barge hull (Open type) for a liveaboard project. However I am not sure of acceptable/known construction methods; does anyone know any good books or website links that specifically cover this topic. Thanks

Michael Verney wrote a couple of books about conversions, eg:

Are you planning a boat to go to sea in or for inland waterways?

Thanks for the response(s), I am planning on a boat for rivers and coastal, theres so much to choose from; now im leaning towards wooden fishing boats as these can be had for quite cheap, the only downside is they require alot of maintenance. Thanks for the link of the book, that will be handy.
