Hi Ya'll,

New to this forum and no doubt posting this in the wrong place  sorry.
I'm a well established member of a Norfolk Broads fourm (NBF) and own a Jack Powles 'Star Supreme' class cabin cruiser an all wood 40ft now fully restored built in 66 the first of her class and the only all wood version ever made. We call her 'Broad Ambition' R641. We keep her on the Norfolk Broads. We re-comissioned her in Oct 07 after we completed her restoration (5 1/2 years) up here in Doncaster

I'll have a few questions in the near future after I've found my way round the site and learnt the do's and dont's etc.

Nice to be here.

Griff

Hi Griff.
Welcome aboard.
You are in the right place and will find lots of help here.
Most of us on Classic are wooden boat nuts or own older boats of other build materials.
We have a nice relaxed view on most things and do our best to help each other.
All the best post and enjoy Cheers David.

Can you post some photos.

Thanks for the welcome,
Cliveshep - Luck did not have owt to do wi it, nearly got divorced twice form the same wife during those 5 1/2 years of restoration, thought we'd never finish her. We started with a plan of 18 x months and £10k. That sort of went astray somewhat, 8'500 x man hours, and £67k was to be a more accurate figure.

Old_Salt - I have tired to put an avatar up but so far failed and I have got below the 24.6kb thingy's stated, as for other photo's I certainly have a go when I get more used to the site

Lesweeks - certainly looks like one, lots more information about these class of yachts on the NBF.

NBF - btw is the worlds largest forum dedicated to the Norfolk Broads. There is a thread on there with our restoration story/history with photo's provided etc. If anyone is interested I can put the link on here or pm you with details, that is if I can actually do a pm thing on here that is :o

Have a look here:-http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/
it should help you.
The area you need to be in is in your user CP scroll down to Settings & Options then Edit Avatar. Use the saved pic from Create Avatar.

As for photos better to post in "Go Advanced" on here click on the button insert Image on the banner above this edit box, and clear the Http// then insert a ULR copy from the hosting image as in Photobucket etc, click OK and to check that all is OK click on Preview Post hit the exit top right to return then hit submit Reply.
I hope this helps others will be along to explain what I have missed.:)

Well that seems to have worked, the first photo is of 'B.A' at Acle Bridge taken on the morning of 01st Jan 2010, note most of the curtains still drawn closed, that'll be the crew still in bed then!

The second photo was taken on the morning of 02nd Jan 2010 at Malthouse Broad, er . . . it was a bit cold overnight it seems.

Now you have got me.
How do you do the "Attached Thumbnails" so they enlarge when you click on them?????
I can post photo's but have not worked out to do the Thumbnails.:D

You're asking ME??

No Idea is the quick reply, all I do with the photo's is resize them using 'Paint' so they don't take up too much bandwidth before posting them on this (or the NBF) forum, it does the same thing on the other site, that is you can click on them to enlarge twice!!

Now one for you, How do I get my website automatically added onto any postings I make?

Thanks,

Griff

You can put it in with your signature in the user CP as an a link addition.

great looking boat. I live about 6 miles E of Acle, there are decaying versions of boats similar laying in yards around the area and when I've finished the vessel I have chosen as my passage to insanity, a 1937 cutter, I have a fancy to try my hand at reviving one of those. Post a note when next your on board, it would be good to see her in the wood.
