I've been looking fwd to seeing this new X yacht cruiser and sure enough it didn't dissapoint! What a lovely yacht. One of very few yachts in production today which (in my opinion - & not everyones i'm sure!) has a proper ballast ratio i.e 43 %. The XC range are designed for serious cruising with stiff and sea kindly characteristics - yet fast

The bigger versions are also crackers too. Just wish I had the £300k to buy one!

If you've not cast your eye over one - have a look.

I had a look over it (or something similar) at the boat show last year, it appeared to be quite an interesting boat and with X yachts' racing credentials it should offer good sailing performance. However it was difficult to get to know how well the interior worked as it was plastered in notices forbiding sitting down anywhere and the opening any lockers. This year I looked at the X-34 which had was also covered in similar notices, why do they do that?

Didn't see her at SIBS, but in Haderslev where she's built :)

I don't know why they have all the notices, but it's annoying when someone does that :(

They had the notices because it was an owners boat, and maybe the owner didn't want people poking around their boat, or sitting on their cushoins with biros in their pockets. :)

I do wonder why brokers don't just get the factory to send another set of cushions over just for the show though

Anyway Here's a 360 of the interior for your viewing pleasure

Impressed by the boat but not by the sales team. 43% ballast ratio is the same as my boat, but the broader stern gives much more internal volume. Finish inside looked first class, and I did look inside the lockers, regardless of what the notices said. A classy piece of kit all round. Good looker as well.

Maybe, but most of the boats at the marina looked like they had owners and I don't think any of the other stands had the same restrictions in place. Also boat show boats used to be discounted or come extra kit to make up for the wear and tare.

The quality of the woodwork on the Swedestar was, in my personal opinion, much better than the XC38. But the Swedestar is a much twitchier boat to sail according to reports.

The XC38 has a bit of a way to go before she gets to the Swedish quality of Arcona (Swedish built ones obviously), Regina, Najad, HR etc It's above average, then again so is the Dehler 45

Here's a 360 of the Swedestar 370 to compare
