New web site for finding berths in the Med - both visitor and permie opened today. www.portbooker.com

Seems to be a few teething problems - I can't get to the English version but guess they will fix things in due course. Have a look (and NO!!! I am not involved in anyway whatsoever with this site - just passing on the info)

The interactive mapo on the site is remarkable.A worldwide street map.Looking forward to the English version or a Spanish speaker who can translate it.

Not wildly accurate - I'll say. "Información no disponible online" and the Google map doesnt show marinas that have been there for years (eg Badalona, and even Mataro)

Actually in most of the Med you just cant book ahead, they are not interested in arsholes who book and then dont turn up. So the best way to find a place is just to tie up on their fuel birth and look sheepish.

Thanks for posting the details but it doesn't seem to be up and running yet. For my 42' Nauticat it tells me that either the ports don't take vessels of my size (not true) or that booking isn't possible online (almost certainly true). Since they won't take telephone or email bookings I am surprised if this will work unless you can pay a booking fee.

As a note, I have had some luck booking by fax using www.interfax.net to fax via email either by wifi, internet cafe or SSB Winlink/Sailmail. Marinas might accept a fax booking when they won't take phone or email - just my experience, don't know if it is general.

Thoroughly agree, If you radio on approach you'll get told there's no room, better to get in and tied up to the fuel berth or waiting quay then let them sort out where they're going to put you. (6 yrs in Alicante area, only failed once) )
