Nah , quite simple and ingeneous
Definately VP idea

Stand at stern and throw large quantities of cash over the stern
then, by easy physics, the resultant effect is that boat moves forward.
Simple!!!

My Dealer went on the Launch in Sweden recently. From what I can make out the drive is vertical at midships, and can be rotated to PULL you in any direction. It is supposedly 40% more powerful than conventional outdrives, and 30% more fuel efficient. The cost is expected to be high for the drive, but due to extra power you would be able to fit D4's instead of D6's thereby reducing the total cost.

QM2 kit

The "hubs" (ie electric motor housings) are massive. Nearly same dia as prop. You would think loads of drag and interference with clean flow of water over prop?
