Looks like ideal weather. It was similar on Windermere yesterday.

I think having a leg up on the coachroof is risky. If you heave on the sheet in that position you could pop a disc. (I take it that wasn't you)

I see you're now sitting to windward, good stuff. Looked like you did a great job getting a lane out of that mark too.

Although you seem to have scared the girls off....

The Girls will be back, two on holiday, one stuck at work, lack of commitment I'd call it!

I will see how much bad language there is on the bit of video showing how we threw away a 1/4 mile fleet lead, and maybe post a video, showing how not to fly a kite!!! lol

Lovely to see, keep them coming.

Was the helm pinching a bit there? Tell tales looked a little unhappy?

Yes Jac! I was desperately trying not to slip down wind of Mayhem plus (the 31foot racing machine which went around the outside at the mark) who out point us by a good 2 or 3 degrees, to no avail, possibly because I was pinching a bit. Although the tell tails are ultra sensitive being light plastic from a carrier bag, held on with sail repair tape! A mod carried out at Torbay Week a couple of years ago and still in use. Anyway, we did slip down into his dirty air, hence the tack.

Here is the embarrassing evidence of complete ineptitude! lol

Long had the policy of using a poled out genoa instead of the kite, particulalry on short legs or when not fully crewed. We simply arent good enough to make a slick job of kite handling in those situations. And we did on one memorable occasion hoist it upside down.

Mind you your sound track is very impressive. The language if we did the same would make a whore blush

what kit are you using to take the video?

Its a £60 HD digital video camera bought off ebay. Un branded, but like a slightly smaller version of a gopro. It comes with a water proof box and rail mounting.

If you look at Lake sailor's videos, he has made a high mounting for his setup and a counterballanced mounting!

Yes it was a cock up from start to finish, we hadnt put it up because the leg was too tight, then realised we were rigged for a port hand lift, so I made a bit to windward to give us a launch before the mark, then jibe. which might have worked if it hadnt caught on everything it could! Being short handed it took far to long to sort out....
