The NEW Princess V45
Can’t believe we are in the process of buying a brand new boat, it will be our 5th boat, FALCON 23, Regal 242, Targa 30, V42 and now this

Fantastic stuff Tim. Can't wait to hear all the details and we will want detail 'in build' photos too /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cheers,
Rick

No, I wouldn't have one, it's too, errm, big to fit in the berth I currently have.
(Drool).

Did you go for the hardtop version?

v nice like the pun!! re our v45, we didn’t go to the show to buy a new boat, we were sort of looking for a second hand boat but could not find what we were looking for after deeply studying the spec is ore matched our criteria, al be it more than our rough budget (as always with boats).

Thanks Rick lots of pics there will be too! (now I have found put to post them), we will be looking to pick yours and the other forumites brains next pub meet re specifying her up.

It is a sort of hard top the surrounding is grp and inside fits a kind of fabric that open up the total length of the roof, the same type as the present V48. Some may say not a true hard top but they were totally out of our budget.

It sounds like a good arrangement, benefits being quieter than under a fibreglass lid, lighter, etc.

Fantastic looking boat, btw.

Congrats Tim,

Beautiful looking toy! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Did you stay with Princess due to previous boat or did it come out on top of show time evaluations.

What boats were on the short list?

Well done, you have certainly got some bottle :-). I spent a long time with Justin from Princess at SIBS discussing this very boat and the pro's and con's compared to the V48 that we were on at the time.

One of the benefits of the V45 was that it is a brand new model and perhaps a little more manageable for finding a visitors berth compared to the V48. A fully specced V48 was coming in at around £450k, the V45 was around £80k cheaper, and the new Cranchi 43 I am looking at in Italy in a couple of weeks is around £70k cheaper than the V45. Then of course there is the brand new Fairline coming out, so a raft of new boats for me to consider. I just want to actually see what extra I am getting for the money compared to what I have (around £200k more for the V45 than a new Cranchi 34).

I was so tempted but wanted to see one in the flesh so to speak before deciding, I was shown the build dates and by waiting to see one at LIBS there will be no hope of one for 2007. I will see what Italy brings, but I was very impressed by the details I was shown on the V45, I'm sure you will enjoy her, well done.

Hi Roger,
She came out tops on all of our key points to stay around 42 foot, a garage, hard top and to stay on out drives. I am not 100% convinced on IPS yet, so with all that to boot plus being a Princess for us a relatively easy decision.

Congratulations, it looks a fantastic boat. I think for a sport cruiser the Princess fabric roof is the best compromise, almost like an open boat with the roof fully retracted, but without the hassle of covers, or at least far less of them.
