I have just bought my first wooden boat, a 4ton 1954 Hillyard. Its more of a reasembly than a restoration project, needing caulking, painting etc but no cutting out and replacing timbers.
Many questions will follow no doubt but first, has anyone any experience of these boats. Any comments or advice will be gratefully recieved.

My mistake. Mary Dawn is 2 1/2 ton and belonged to a friend of mine until only two weeks ago. Hence the confusion.

No I dont know your new girl but I will attempt to find out a little. Good luck with the project. If you get stuck, there are quite a few of us Hillyard boys down at Wicormarine, Portsmouth.
