My "new" boat has all autohelm/raytheon/raymarine kit on it. I've just upgraded the plotter as it was mono and have now got an E80. Don't want to change anything else at this time as I'm happy with the radar on a separate screen, the instruments are fine etc. etc.

The old plotter had 2 seatalk cables going into it, and they were flat plugs. The E80 has only 1 seatalk hole (plus a seatalk 2 and seatalk NG) and its a round plug.

So what do I need? I presume I can buy cables to do the connections. Do you know of a good place to buy these sorts of bit and pieces on line preferably? Do these type of plugs have a name so I can talk half knowledgably? And do you think will I get this sort of thing at the jumble I can't spell on Sunday?

Thanks!

Can't help with the Raymarine kit - sorry - but I'm curious to know why your spelling ability deteriorates on Sunday. Is it because Sunday is a 'day of rest'.

It should run with just the seatalk plug, try one of your two in turn, one should fire you up, the other was repeating to something else in your system probably the auto pilot. Sea talk has only three wires, Black neg. Red live. and yellow info. If it does not start up connect the power cable that came with new unit, just red and black, leave the rest out of it, and one of your seatalks will be from the gps. Sounds complicated but once grasped it is simple.
