New Teak Decks from Turkey

Some months back, someone told of having their teak decks laid in Turkey.

A fellow member of the Cruising Association is asking for information on this. Can anyone help?

I visited Netsell marina in Marmaris and loads of people were getting teak decks done. The cost is from memory about a third of that in the UK and the workmanship superb.
Im sure you could contact the marina to get a contact. I certainly plan to get mine done there in a few years when they wear out

They do a really proffesional job, and for a normal price. Turkeys not inexpensive just not in Europe union, so work will still be done at prices high for Turkey but not for the UK.Two things just check the screws used and the mastic--just as you ought to any where, normaly alls well .Umm if you have a chance go along and look at their work shop--sometimes it really amazing an aladins cave other times its just European

Re: New Teak Decks from Turkey

two weeks ago i saw in finike marina (a popular winter station) a new teak deck under work in a 38 footer.
the work looks very nice with a good finish and i asked a few questions:
how much ?: about 500 euros per square meter.
how long ? : about 6-7 weeks
the job is done by the marina shipyard carpenter so you can contact the marina for more info.
