Hi

So we have now got the nice new system in place off the Suffolk coast.

Does this affect peoples preferred routes over to Holland and Belgium or down to the Thames, Dover and beyond?

I have just got hold of the new chart and it seems to be a case of picking up the new bouy positions (for those of us who like to play dot to dot with them) and essentially continue as before as the system doesn't seem to have the same mandatory right angle crossing requirement as others.

Any views, ideas, etc would be appreciated.

Reading the news page at www.eastcoastpilot.com/news.htm, it says amongst other things that: "Clarification has come from Harwich Harbour Authority that the areas are only 'Precautionary', and that any vessel may use them. The only areas requiring compliance with ColRegs Rule 10 (cross at right angles in the correct direction) are the three TSS (North, South and East). Vessels of less than 20m length and sailing vessels may use the Longsand Head and Shipwash routes."

gentlemen - I'm coming over on sunday from ostend, weather permitting, via LSH and then to Rough N cardinal to cross TSS at Cross bouy. Has anything changed to stop me getting over to the North side of the TSS and the Deben via this route?

we should see you there. We're actually arriving by car saturday afternoon to take the boat back on sunday.
Good luck, saturday looks like a good day for a crossing.
Are you planning to stay long?
