New Stern Gear

Does anyone have any reccomendations for a supplier of Sterngear. I have just been lifted and was planning to replace the stern gland with either a Volvo or a PSS, However the prop also needs replacing and i am thinking or using a Varifold to replace the 2 blade Gori which had been 'bodged' on to the shaft before, therefore i am also going to need a shaft as the exisiting does not have a taper.

Any suggestions on the best place to get a prop, shaft, cutlass bearing and stern gland. I have tried a couple of prop places that i found on google but not many seemed that interested or helpful, I would really appreciate the forums wisdom on this as it is starting to look like another expensive replacement job.

I had a new propshaft, inboard bearing/stuffing box made by T.Norris Ltd, Isleworth, Middlesex. I was happy with their work and the prices seemed reasonable.

Good service sensible prices, couldn't fault them.

I have purchased cutlass bearing plus PSS Dripless shaftseal from T Norris no problems & very heldpfull. If you want a Vari Fold go direct to Bruntons in Clacton on Sea who make them
