New Slipway - Dartmouth

Parking will always be an issue in Dartmouth and I can't see a fix that wouldn't spoil the town.

However I find it refreshing to see a local council investing in marine facilities of any kind - even in a place like Dartmouth that relies on marine trade and tourism. I use the small slipway in Totnes when using the Dart, but only because I'm the wrong side of the river for Dartmouth and the Ferry gets a bit costly when towing!

Buy a book of 20 tickets for the higher ferry for £25, 2 tickets in total for car and trailer so £2.50 in total. I'd call that good value.

Talking of slipways why can't councils provide more free slips around the country? Very few here and the ones i know you need to pay or get a key to use it.Then they wonder why the youngsters are hanging about on the street rather than dinghy sailing, fishing, diving etc.
