"Stop Press - SCORPION TAKE WORLD RECORDS August 2002
Hot Lemon IV, a Scorpion 10m Cruiser, broke the outright world records for powered circumnavigation of mainland Great Britain in the under 30ft and under 50ft records yesterday, Wednesday 7th August 2002.
Travelling some 1,440 nautical miles in 37 hours and 51mins 35 seconds, beating the previous Sunseeker's record by 1 hour and 59 minutes.
Crew: Mike & David Deacon along with Chris Strictland and Jan Falkowski.
Scorpion RIBs congratulate Mike and the team for such an excellent performance for the second year running and 'clipping' some 5hrs off their previous record."
Hot Lemon is a 10m Scorpion cabin RIB with 2x300hp Yanmars/Bravo 1 drives.
Mike and Chris broke the record last year in his previous RIB and then lost it again to the Sunseeker XS team.
Very impressive achievement!
