New Red Can Buoy at entrance to Fort de l\'Est
Hi All,
I spotted the following article in this months PBO (page 13) - might be useful to you as you enter Cherbourg..
Cherbourg in France is a safe landfall and favourite for the first long passage, writes Roger Oliver. I recently sailed out of the entrance of Cherbourg, and noticed a new red can less than a cable to the north of the one in the center of the entrance to Fort de l'Est. If approaching in fog from seaward, take care not to confuse the two.
Just thought it might be useful info if you haven't been there before. Enjoy the trip- wish I was coming but Im having the first week of October off for a run down to the Scilies.
cheers,
Ben
