I discovered at the weekend that I need a new prop for my ageing Trapper 500!

I am looking for a cheap fixed 3 blade - can anyone recommend a good supplier please. I think I know what size I need: 12" x 8 pitch, 22mm shaft and I have the keyway at home for size of that, is there anything else I need?

Any assistance gratefully received.

The other information you need is the "taper" on the shaft.

I have used Sillette Sonic for props (but of the folding variety) and can say that their service is very good - I think they are now in some way connected to Lake in Poole

If it's a 22mm shaft it will have a metric taper i.e 1:10 if it is imperial it will be 1:12. be careful with your measurement 22mm is very close to 7/8 inch.

When you say you need a new prop is it because it's damaged? You'd be surprised what can be done to a prop to repair it.
I used this company and was very pleased with the result

Take a look at http://www.crowthermarine.co.uk/ , they design and make propellers and all other items of stern gear, a number of members of my sailing club have used them and been well satisfied. They also do prop repairs. You may find them reasonable in price compared to firms in the more yachty south.

I've been trying to get hold of these folks to get a quote for my outboard prop - but e-mail are returned as "Domain name not found" even if I go to their web site. Is anyone sure that they're still in business?

I can't find them in Yell.com either, though their web page is still alive.

I used them last year. Have you tried calling them?
