Now I have wonder long and hard on what would be the ideal school boat, and I think I have found it.

You would be dry and it is usable in all weathers.


You could pack lots of students in,,,,, £££££££

They really do drop those things off 45* ramps on the sterns from deck height, don't they? I can't help but feel if you need to get away that fast, you've probably left it a little late... I can understand it on gas/oil tankers, but general shipping?

Yup ... and not leaving it too late .... Walk onboard and sit down, strap in and be quiet .... Starts with a rumble throughout the boat as you move along the rollers, followed by a strange silence as you fly though the air, and when you hit the water, it is actually suprisingly soft .... the momentum from the fall, and the boyancy drives the lifeboat away from the mothership... been there, done that and got the gray hair....
