With the pressure on fares for international travel, the chances of anyone getting a new route up and running must be pretty slim. Slightly ironic that it's announced as the Harwich Esbjerg route closes...

Thanet council can stay sober at a brewery and still try to blame the brewers for brewing beer.
One needs to ask what the schedule of charges is based on and wherther they are justified.

I don't see it as ironic, one route closes and someone else sees an opportunity

I think they are banned from cross channel altogether as they are part of Eurotunnel.

The Competition and Markets Authority has provisionally confirmed an earlier decision by the Competition Commission that Eurotunnel should be barred from operating a ferry service from Dover.

Seems odd that they could reopen Ramsgate or, even closer to the tunnel,Folkestone and not be infringing competition laws,but be barred from Dover.I bet the lawyers would make a killing if they tried to do that.
