Hello all,
I have been reading the forums for couple of years on and off, but have had nothing to say as didn't have a boat but I have now decided to hang up my arm chair and bought a little leisure 17 (Perfect Pitch) which I will be sailing out of Pin Mill (as soon as I have sailed her down there from her current home in Aldeburgh).
I look forward to seeing some of you out and bout over the coming season.

Any advice for me on my delivery trip (Planning it on the weekend of the 12th may weather permitting) just a little wary of leaving the ore entrance
Anyone planning to head out of the Ore that day I could follow
Hoping for fair winds for all

Welcome Davydog. As I have never been in the Ore - it's on the list for this year - then I'll offer no advice except see the eastcoastrivers website. Have a good trip.

Hi Davydog... timing and care is all it takes.... the thought of it is a lot scarier than the reality!

Mind you, not wanting to put the fear of god into you or anything, but ask FullCircle about when my steering failed in mid river in the Ore!!!

Hi and welcome , ditto what Moodysabre says , I would keep a careful watch on the weather for this w/e tho , it's not looking perticularly great for a first passage along the coast even if the wind is up ya transom

Welcome to Pin Mill - have you got a mooring sorted yet? I'm down opposite Fox's Bottom, give a shout when you make it, there could be beer involved...

In answer to your question loadsman, my mooring is about 500m upstream from the hard at pin mill on the butt and oyster side if the river
I look forward to seeing you for liquid refreshment in the near future
