Does anybody know about this - is it true , has it started, what size ???

Yes it's true, but I think it's going to take a while until it is ready judging from the speed of construction. From what I can gather it's a local businesman that's building it, who has other interests as well as the marina. In fact the construction work seems to be stalling recently. My information is from chatting to locals and might not be factually correct, but what is correct is that the marina is still far from being complete because I saw it recently.

Re: New Marina at Port Bannatyne ? YESSSS

Well I know you guys posted some years ago, but the new marina at Port Bannatyne is now taking bookings for the pontoon berths with special rates for anyone reserving before April. They'll be rolling out 100 berths this year!
Their website is http://PortBannatyneMarina.co.uk
and their phone is 01700 502719.
PORT BANNATYNE MARINA, PORT BANNATYNE PA20 0LT
ISLE OF BUTE, ARGYLL, SCOTLAND
The boatyard has always been as helpful as can be and most economic, and now they're charging the lowest on The Clyde.
The waters are very well protected and there's no ferries to worry about; they go into Rothesay just 3 miles down the coast.
If anyone's unsure of where Port Bannatyne is: it's in the northwest of the Isle of Bute, the Clyde-side entrance to The Kyles of Bute. Bute of course lies between the Isle of Arran and the Argyll mainland. The scenery is spectacular.
Google Maps are on their website.
The village has got an eccentric golfcourse, a petanque pitch, a fish and chips, 2 pubs, Post Office, and the famous Russian Tavern serving up-market meals, freshly landed seafood and Russian cuisine, and they have 4 budget guestrooms too.
So it's quite a good bet.

Re: New Marina at Port Bannatyne ? YESSSS

Its on our Marina Directory so it must be true. They have asked us to put it in our database and say " After many delays our lost little village at Port Bannatyne has finally got its marina!"
http://www.reesmarine.com/marina/detail/464.php.
Will be happy to put more info about the area on the listing Just contact us through feedback from our site. I am told there are big Discounts if you book before April.
