Maptech have finally got their new software released with a downloadable trial from their website.
Anyone used this before as I believe it is Rosepoint software re-badged.
£249.95 is a lot of money, good value or not?

Yes it is the Rosepoint Coastal Explorer re-badged.
I'ts very good,I've been trying it out for a while.
Does everything.
The only disappointment is that there will be no vector charts availabe for it in the UK, unless you go to the admiralty and buy at their commercial shipping prices for S57 charts..which are steep.

As to whether it's worth 249.95..dunno..certainly compares favouably with Maxsea and Nobeltec, but I would have thought perhaps nearer to the £199 mark without the vector availabilty.
£199 will be the price however for exixting Offshore Navigator Users upgrading.

I used to use Maptech but found their chart CD's did not have all the charts available for an area, whereas C-map, and presumably Navionics, have them all.

Now use SOB for free, (330 or so after 6 months free trial), and C-map Max.
