I'd rather it said that wind should not be *less than* 34 knots, it'd keep all the stinkies at home!

OK between 24 and 34 knots inclusive, from an Easterly direction and ambient daytime temperature of 36C, how's that?

Re: New legislation.. Easterlies

Two benefits for that route

1) No fetch so see will be flat
2)Its a lot more interesting via the great circle route of the Davis Strait, Bering Sea, Artic Ocean and Pentland firth!

Could we have a water temperature of 0, and an ambiet temperature of 36 so we can go arctic cruising in our shorts? Whats the parliamentary timetable for this bill anyway, I hope its going to come into force before the election (ready for the summer)

Re: New legislation.. Easterlies

I demand a public enquiry, as East Coast is better served by Southerlies. Wind over tide (Easterlies) round here produces very interesting pretty wave patterns in an astounding shade of brown. Also recorded my ship on mooring beam on to F7 wind one way and tide the other induced a roll of about 30 degrees either way on each wave through. 20 minutes of trying to fix the engine with my head in a hole put paid to my enthusiasm, and I was back in the pub sharpish. Along with stinky crews also not stupid enough to promote the RNLI training afternoon.

Its obvious .. everybody could fly unaided. How else do you think the geordie treacle miners discovered Australia millions of years ago? or the redskins got to America from Bradford or all the train spotters got to the north pole. Then Newton spoiled it all until it was wrighted again early last century.

I think if we take it thro the committee process we could come up with a cross party compromise.. namely something along the lines if its Monday or Tues Southerly veering Westerly late Tuesday afternoon Wed and Thu AM Westerly Veering Northerly etc etc... we could even specify certain winds on certain days at specific locations so the Channel / Solent bods only get Westerlies and Easterlies etc

erm, aren't you, of all people in grave danger with this piece of legislation? With all them FBs inside of you, I was just thinking that you'd be a serial offender.
