The French factory are getting ideas about bigger flybridge boats;

They are bringing out the Prestige 50 Fly

She'll be equipped with 2 x 575 HP Volvo D9

Quite a sharper than the Prestige 46

Well I reckon it will have acres of space and be value for money>>>> dont know that I really wany 50 foot though.

the 46 is very succesful here in the med

strange is it, another flybridge from a major builder and no IPS again
quality of Jeanneau is good tough some minor issues, but I think it is the best of these build anything builders (Bava, Bene, Hans Fjord etc etc)

Yes I like the 46. To be honest if you look deep you can see where savings are made in construction and quality, but not where it matters and I only use a boat for the weekends and odd holiday and it means I can have a bigger boat for the same bucs.... so no contest there for me.

I have been looking at a 3 cabin 45 footer from princess but forgot about the prestige 46 and looking through the adverts I see as you say there are lots in the med, good prices too. Any idea what they perform like?

I think its the 46 hull with an extended swim platform? If you look at the 46 picture above the hull seems to extend most of the way under the hull, whereas on the 50 its doesn't at all. It looks like new topsides, though they've tried to make it look the same, which is a mistake IMO as the 46 is dull as ditchwater. I also don't think a loft ladder to the flybridge cuts it against the competition these days, and an internal stair isn't necessary on a 50 foot boat.

You can't knock Jeanneau, although of course I just did, they make solid boats at good prices, but I think they need some Italian blood in the design department.
