New Hugo Boss.

So let me get this straight......

The old hugo Boss was designed and built in such a manner that the keel fell off/became inoperative mid southern ocean.

The new boat is significantly wider and with more freeboard and yet 25% lighter....

I fear the writing is on the wall already.

You do have to remember that sill was quite an old boat circa 1999-2000 may be a bit earlier, and as such was probably at the development stage of the Open class boats design. Large gains have been made in both materials and design through the last 15-20 years so I would expect the weight savings to have been made where they can and a bit extra used where needed, i.e. around the keel boxes etc.
