We need to fit a new forepeak hatch to out GRP yacht (we're not keen on the 'letting in water' feature of the current one). Sadly it's not a standard size (of course!) so we need to have one made. Can anyone recommend a company (or warn us off any)? We've picked up stuff from Lewmar, Moonlight, Houdini & Seaglaze from the boat show, but I'm sure there are other options out there...

Two or three years ago, I had a complete set of 10 windows made by C&J International, Cradley Heath, near Birmingham. They made anodised aluminium frames and toughened glass using the old windows as patterns. So far I am very pleased with them . Their prices seemed very reasonable. Despite the grand sounding name, they are basically a husband and wife team. Suggest you give them a ring. they are very helpful.
PS Google them

Chrissie,
Houdini are based in Southminster near Burnham On Crouch, and you can drive over, talk it over with them, and they will make it. Simple. We did that on my mates Impala after we managed to fall through it during a gybe.

Good service, reasonable price, very local.
