New genny 6kw-where would you buy from?

Try E-bay.
I have just taken delivery of a 5.0 Kva, super silent from Energen
A slight problem getting the battery to work, due mainly to the health and safety rules now in transportation, IE no oil in it, no fuel (even though it is diesel,) and no battery electrolyte,
as that is not allowed.
It ran fine on a jump start though.
They have more, at 6.5Kva, 5.0Kva use, £695, plus delivery, and full CE UK certified.
Worth a look

It will cost about£1,000 per Kw for a decent marine genny, dont get sidetracked into buying chinese copies at bargain prices.

I don't see why not. At £695 a throw, you could afford to buy a new one every year for eight years and still be quids in.

When it breaks outside warranty, chuck it away and buy another one.

The ebay sellers offer a 6 month warranty, but they have to give a statutory one year warranty, so I am not sure how they think they can get around the sale of goods act.

If you look at the money maths then your reply makes sense. However as the genny that is to be replaced is an Onan then I presumed that it was plumbed in and would be replaced with similar.

I wonder if it's possible to convert these to water cooled, after all that's what happens with most boat engines. Would still make it a very cheap alternative.
