Just got back from one of the regular Wokingham forum meets, and had a suprise visitor.
I invited ShirleyKnot along some while back, and heard nothing. Shirley and her husband John turned up tonight. Pretty crap photo, but here's the merry bunch (minus Col who took the photo using my phone) Shirley centre, John to far right.

Lovely couple, and they were picking the accumulated brains on their choice of new boat. We might have narrowed it down a bit, but given the diverse range of the Wokingham meet, the choice was wide to say the least! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Who can identify the rest of us?

Yep! That's definately me behind the camera (phone)
Shirley, don't forget our discussion re sport boat V fly bridge (bearing in mind the amount of Sealine owners telling you otherwise) John, nice to meet you too.

I think they discounted Rick's suggestion of a shed on a semi-displacement hull, but he's a little bit more biased then the rest of us! <g>

The Cobol guy is the one with the beard. I'm pure Fortran as can be told by size of forehead. The guy who rammed nuclear containers on trains for a living doesn't have any hair, Cols SWMBO is in there, and Pauline can identify one of the culprits without a doubt - after these hints, you are on your own.

Amazing! I used to live in Bracknell and to think, I wouldn't (hopefully) look out of place amongst you all!

Looks like you had a great night,. Well done!

Regards.

Peter.

If you're ever down this way, we advertise the meets on the Virtual Pub meet forum(go to main menu) and even Forbsie, and Raggies like BigNick have turned up before now, and we were half expecting Stingo tonight. Less seldom we have Berks meet, usually organised by Nick, and we all meet near Ascot, and Martin Woolwich and many others attend those.

Great fun getting forumites together. The Mercury meet on the Hamble is huge, and will be second weekend of May - do you fancy coming and meeting over a hundred odd forumites?

Its about time Nick2 sorted out another Ascot meet...

COBOL? Pah, how am I ever going to control the hanging-basket water system with that?

Ah But

Ascot has been moved to York this year which means me and Martyn Whiteley should be able to make it as well. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Unless you are a clique of course.......

Well there was one stranger who tried to butt in on our conversation but a quick invite outside to the carpark soon sorted him out. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

PS - everyone there had to make a clique joke before they were allowed to join in the conversation!

Sorry for the delay, we've had network problems at work... It was great to meet up with you! Don't believe the banter here, some of them are nearly normal!
