Going to renew shaft and coupling as existing coupling u/s and no spares, 30 years old, and cannot get coupling off without cutting shaft. Looking to get some advice on what flexible coupling to go for with respect to makes, reliability etc. Engine is a volvo md22, with shaft going through stuffing box and cuttless bearing.
Have not got room to fit the bulkhead mounted coupling, cannot remember coupling name, before you recommend it.

Thanks

Many different types of coupling, varying from the simple R&D type to more sophisticated types like Centaflex. Your choice depends on what you are trying to achieve and maybe the amount of space you have.

You will find some useful information in the Vetus catalogue pp 68-70 which you can view on their website www.vetus.com I have used the Bullflex type with success, and chose that because for my installation it was the only one that would fit.
