I'm about to install a stainless exhaust elbow but my none standard system the hose will be too short.
Od of elbow pipe seems to be around 42mm is there a standard size hose to fit this thanks

What is the size of the other end of the exhaust hose? as you are changing the exhaust elbow size the other end has not changed in which case you will have to get an exhaust hose with 2 different sized ends. I had this problem when i did an engine change, the exhaust elbow diameter was smaller than the muffler that the hose went on to, easy problem to solve Portmere rubber made me a hose the length i required and the diameter of each end which i believe were 42mm id one end and 50mm id the other. When they make an exhaust hose they will cuff(leave out the wire from each end to you required length) it to make it easier to fit and seal, they will also supply the Mikalor band clamps. Jim

The exhaust elbow on my DV20 is at least 5 years old; no problems yet but I was thinking of pre-emptively changing it this winter for one of these stainless steel ones:
KooL-X2 exhaust elbow for Bukh DV10, DV20, DV24, DV29, DV36 Marine Engines | eBay
Rhylsailer - is that what you bought?
Has anyone else any experience of these? They seem quite cheap for what they are and the processing that must go into making them, so I'd appreciate any views on build quality and longevity before I change such a critical component.
Thanks, Steve

yes mine works great but i had to buy a 13mm pipe with a 90deg bend to connect to the thermostat hose and i also made a new hose connector for my thermostat , if you need to buy one its m18x1.5mm with a 13mm or 1/2" hose tail.
