New Duoprops ?

Hello all
I have just had my duoprops replaced under warranty, as the engine would not rev to its 4600 rpm redline, would only go to 3900rpm.
My two, three bladed duoprops were replaced with three bladed front prop and four bladed back prop, anyone heard of this ? the engineer assured me it was ok, what do you think ?

Whats the engine and drive?
Sounds like Volvo petrol engine with S-drives with prop change from say D5's to D4's

Its a Volvo 4.3 gl 190hp duoprop petrol 2002.
I thought it sounded unusual to have a three and a four bladed prop.

Hiya Jim

I think its quite common to have the three and a four. My 290 dp's have a three bladed prop nearest the drive and a slightly smaller four bladed prop in front, both counter rotating.

I think you were originally over propped and not achieving full revs.
D0 to D4 sets have a 4 bladed aft prop and D5 to D7 set have 3 bladed aft props.
