Memories of this time last year, when my Birchwood 27 did 20 knots with only a single Merc 120 diesel installed. Only 4 knots slower than it did with twin 120 petrols.

Congratulations!

Hi

It is exciting. I have just converted as well it means more and longer trips. I have got two 4 cylinder diesels and get a lot of vibration at low speeds - do you get much vibration from the v8?

What's the noise levels like on the GM V8? I had an old GM engine years ago and it was horrendous.

Bill.

I've just finished installing a 6 cyl diesel and new Bravo 3 drive.
Took the trouble to put some more soundproofing in whilst I had room - ie whilst the engine was out.
Now quieter than the V8 petrol!

I would have been back on the water 3 months ago if I hadn't needed to replace the transom whilst I was at it (it was rotten, nasty shock)
