The new chandlery at Titchmarsh Marina is now up and running. The new owners are really making an effort and it is coming along very nicely. Great new coffee bar area, good new secondhand section which seems to be doing well.

Some lovely clothes and boat accessories, including designer items, as well as the normal chandlery area. More stock seems to be arriving all the time.

We are not related in any way - just nice to see them making an effort and thought it would be good to give them some support.

You must be joking! £190 for a woolly jumper? Second hand prices comparable to new! Rope more expensive than Foxes. Art gallery?? And plans for a Jewellery section:confused: Chandlery??? Bring back Marinestore.

They've got to make a living, and we need a chandler's nearby. I'm prepared to give them a chance and give them my patronage. So far, my maximum purchase has been about £1.50 because they were too late for my main buying spree.

It's a big shop and the art is surprisingly good. I believe Dawn someone or other is the wife of one of the harbourmasters and her local views are very accomplished. I suspect that prices of standard goods are not going to compete with the big boys, but if it saves me an hour driving to Foxes and back, it might be worth my while using them.

Bedwells or Frank Halls (both at Walton on the Naze, near the Yacht Club) would be my first choice for many items, at far more competitive prices.

I will support them as much as I can; got a lot of rope & the shackle I needed on Saturday, and good rolls/milk etc all weekend. Hope they make a go of it as it can't be easy carrying a lot of expensive stock.
