I am looking to purchase my first sports boat. I have read comments on the forum and have found them to be very interesting and useful.

However, I was wondering if anyone knew of a website or websites which lists good and bad boat dealerships over the country, so I know which dealerships are good to deal with, and the ones I should avoid!

Thanks for your help!

Re: New Boats a million and one answers!

Welcome to site.Always good idea to give indication of your location, nothing specific just Solent(All yobbos) or east coast (knowledge proper boaters)/forums/images/icons/laugh.gifwould help.
Bound to be someone in your area who can give you the low down on suitable boats and dealers.

I'm mainly looking for dealerships in the south so London, Solent and the rest of the south coast.

I know a website which lists good and bad dealers does exist, I visited it in the past, but cant remember the web address.

So if anyone knows of any websites with this sort of information, the link to the site would be greatly appreciated!

Found Windsor Marine very good(01753 860303).Bought a Bayliner off them a couple of years ago, survey and trial went well, although a 7.4 V8 on the thames was interesting.Decided to get the engine serviced there as I'm not built like a racing snake. The engineer found a leak from the sump.Windsor Marine paid to have the engine lifted out and repaired(new sump) and while they were at it replaced the gear cables as they had been chafed by being routed wrongly.I had already paid them in full before all this was found and was expecting a bit of a wrangle, but no they were honest people and wanted you back as a customer.Don't know if its still the same person running it as this was a couple of years ago.
Good luck.
Al.

It depends what model you want but I can recommend Ron Hale Marine in Portsmouth and Barnet Marine in Barnet. Both have very competitive pricing, and are long established and I've always found them reliable and honest having bought boats and outboards off both of them
