Having viewed and agreed to purchase a Windy 28 Ghibli at Sparkes Marina on Hayling Island last week we had the seatrial on tuesday in a very lumpy Solent and am now the proud owner of one of the best handling sportsboats i have ever been out in. The hull was at ease in a big swell and plenty of chop over Chichester Bar.

Transporting back to Pwllheli North Wales on friday and hope to be on the water on saturday. Bring on the sunshine !! Ha ha i hear you cry.

Thanks to gjgm who gave me helpful and detailed advice, having previously owned a Ghibli and currently a Khamsin.

Cheers

Brilliant!
Pwllheli Eh.
So You will be up for the next 'North Wales' do?

Whenever We get to sort it.

What did You do with the Storebro.
PX or sell separately?

Sorry to be nosey.
Just popped into Your Proflile!

Windy
Proper boat
Good luck with Her.
Nice
'Another Forumite'

Bit sad really.
Just sold a Windy.

Needs some therapy I think and not too far from You.

Anyway as said, what a nice choice of Vessel.

Let me know re the 'do'

Had the Storebro for two seasons having gone bigger to do plenty of trips to Ireland,I.O.M, etc which we did for a while, although the weather and more importantly the lack of interest from two teenage kids to do trips meant the Storebro was a posh fishing boat for my lad last year. Not to be defeated i bought a 7 metre Osprey Vipermax rib with a 250 etec and that kept me and the kids happy but my other half still hankered after a few comforts. So sold the Storebro myself to a Danish chap having advertised it on Scanboat.com for two weeks and hope the Windy will be hardcore enough in the handling stakes, comfortable enough for coastal cruising and the occasional trip with mates, and a great all rounder. Time will tell.

Cheers

Interesting stuff tetleys - thanks.
I like to know why people swap boats etc etc.

I am intending to attend Porth Madoc YCS' Regatta at the end of August.
Nice run round the corner for You?

Other North Wales Forum stuff will be Posted on The Mobo forum by whoever decides to start a Gig!

See you on the water somewhere before the end of this, dare I say it, Summer?

You will love the Windy!

Was on 4b2 with the Storebro, now on 11B22 with the rib which will now go on park and launch til sold, and Windy going on berth. Should be going in water sat am.

Cheers

Managed a run out on the Solent on friday with beautiful sunshine and much calmer conditions. Great to fully open her up pulling 39.6 knots, Fantastic !!
She was then craned out onto transport @ 4.30 pm and travelled up overnight to Pwllheli. By 10.30 we where on the berth and by 12.30 we where anchored of St Tudwals islands enjoying the sunshine and me with the biggest grin on my face as there was a nice swell and chop to test the boats handling.
With the family having no desire to do overnight trips on the previous flybridge boat I am already so enjoying the speed and handling of a great sportsboat. I am sure at some point in the future when the kids are off doing their own thing we may well revert back to a flybridge and go off travelling. We can dabate that great topic of sports/ hardtop versus flybridge at a later date.

Cheers
