Some friends of mine used it recently for scrub and anti-foul. They said they were very pleased with the service they received.

I used the boat lift in June and I can highly recommend this operation, its quick, painless and extremely gentle on the boat. You just gently drive in between the two arms which are hydraulically adjusted. Once in position tie off fore and aft and then the flotation tanks are pumped out and the lift starts. It's suprisingly quick, we remained on board throughout and within 10 minutes they were washing us off.
Don is running a superb operation here and if ever a small business deserved to succeed it’s this one. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they will even drop her back down and adjust the position 12" forward and lift again so that all of the underside of the keel can be scrubbed.
We were held in the lift overnight and took the opportunity to polish the hull. Don even lent us his dinghy to go up to the Folly for dinner.
Here are some photos of Blue Chip in the lift, as you can see there is ample room to work below and because the deck gets washed off on every immersion its clean.
One day I am sure there will be one of these lifts in every harbour.

I assumed you were not allowed down below whilst out of the water, and they did the jet wash and annode change for you. I need to change the anode on the saildrive which will require removing the prop. and wanted to do this my self as the blades are balanced.

No, once she is washed off you are free to do what you want below. They will antifoul for you at very reasonable prices and you can do the anodes while they work around you - or they are happy for you to do everything yourself.
Because the boat sits on her keel and is supported by the uprights there are no chocks or pads to get in the way if you antifoul and polish.
We had planned to antifoul but decided as what was left was still in such good condition since March 2005 (screwfix cruiser) that we thought it would last the rest of this season, probably we will have another scrub in September/October

just rang them 80 + vat for lift and jet wash, for an hour, which should give me enough time to change the anodes. open at weekends recommend me giving a couple of day notice.

This looks like the Sealift2 lifting dock that I asked about earlier today. It looks great and thanks for the pictures. How often have you used it now and do you know if they are planning on any others around the solent/south coast area ?
