New boat for the Scouts
Thanks to Byron (who acted as unpaid broker) and Margaret, my Scout Group now have an Avon 310 rib.
I also managed to source a (1970s) Yamaha 8hp 2 stroke from e-bay for £236.
Alex took her out for a test run on PLA waters a few nights ago, and she absolutely flies along!
We need to obtain some oars, as she did not come with them and I will service the outboard during the winter but it looks like the Scouts are going to have a lot of fun next year whilst earning their Power Coxwain badges.
Still thinking of a name for the boat.. maybe "River Scout" or even "Power Scout".
