Charming bloke,
......but what is the idea of an outboard on a motor sailor?
Saw a massive rib going northbound on the A38 with 300 hp hanging off the back and a 25 hp "get me home" outboard. Had he been on the other side of the pond there would have been another three 300 hp engines.

In case the main engine fails

Fair enough, I guess I brought my little Yam 8hp along with an O/B bracket as an emergency when I went to collect a rib from Cherbourg - not sure how well it would have worked but the 350hp made it without missing a beat.

Following Dylan's example I should have packed a Viking sail also :)

Good luck to him anyhow, whatever he's up to ?

I used my 2.5hp Tohatsu on a dinghy tied alongside to bring my Feeling 920 into Benodet.

There are details on his website but he's got a unusual approach to monetizing his sailing videos

As I recall there were posters on this forum who thought trying to make money by producing videos of your sailing was a threshold that shouldn't be crossed.

I don't think it was the was the trying to make money from his vids that was the problem. It was the hectoring and put downs of anyone who watched without paying. Get a Patreon account, ask people to contribute - fine. It's what everyone does. But Dylan seemed to think the fact that he was formerly a pro meant he should get paid as one for his sailing vids.
World has changed; you get money out of popularity, not quality.
I work in a content creation industry too. We had to find a new model. Not saying I agree with it, but tis what tis.
