Friday was the day our good old Fairline 32 Sedan left us for our new boat - a Sealine S28! It's a 1996 with a single 4.2l 220hp mercruiser diesel. Not the fastest but will feel rather good next year /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We left the bottom of Loch Lomond at around 9.00 for a 2.5 hour trip to Ardlui at the top. Weather wasn't the best when we left but it soon brightened up.

Must say many thanks to Prossers and Davy for a very smooth and helpful handover. Great service guys!

Great pics. Reminds me of a few good years on the loch with my sealine 190. Water looked a bit lumpy when you started off. All the best with your new boat.

Great pics.

You look as though you were very lucky with the weather, Yesterday was very lumpy!
The sun doesn't shine very often at Ardlui. 2.5hrs from Cameron House to Ardlui!! Blimey, what speed did you cruise at?

The S28 is one of my favorite boats, I'm sure you will love it. But the Fairline looks a great boat, the pics show it in fantastic condition, did you trade it in to Prossers?
It must have been a difficult decision to trade it in.

Anyway, hope you have a some great times with Sherbit Dip.

Cheers

Al.

Thanks guys

2.5hrs - Cruised about 7 to 8mph most of the way with a couple of quick blasts. Nice and relaxing.

Yep, we traded it into Prossers.

We went smaller because we felt that although the space was good, we never really used it. Also with the boat we had before the Fairline, a 26ft cruisers, we had much more fun, being able to beach it on the islands and it was more sociable, so we wanted more of that. Plus going from twin petrols to a single diesel, more modern boat, less length for berthing, all will put the running costs down.

The boat came with the name 'Sherbit Dip' but we like so it's staying. It sounds quite fun!

Silver Boy,

Great write up and a great choice. There were a couple of the early S28's with single diesel on Windermere and were great boats! I actually quite fancied one but at the time they were too much!

Enjoy!

Nice boat, btw /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am guessing there is a good chance that Silver Boy isn't on the forum anymore. However, if you are, I thought it would be good to show you that your old boat is still about. I just purchased it from a guy that had it on the River Avon. It's now in Brightlingsea in Essex. I found it really interesting to see how the boat looked previously.
